How to Troubleshoot if Printing of Checks or 1099 Forms are Not Aligning Correctly to the Paper

If your checks or 1099 forms are not aligning correctly on the paper when you print them, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue.

In most cases, when the checks or 1099 forms printed from Rentvine are misaligned on the paper, it's usually due to the printer settings on your local or network printer.

When you print a document, the program (such as Adobe Reader) selects the scaling, or automatic sizing, of the printout. If you are not satisfied with the size of the printout and want to print the document exactly like it looks on your computer, without any scaling, you must remove scaling from the printer. Most programs, such as Adobe Reader, have a Print Preview feature that enables you to preview the document exactly as it will be printed. This feature gives you access to the print settings, enabling you to remove scaling.

Below are some steps you can take to make sure the scaling or sizing setting is configured correctly in order for the printout from Rentvine to be aligned correctly on the paper.

  1. Select the "Print Preview" option. In some programs, this option might be displayed in the Print sub-menu.
  2. Use the "Scale" or "Zoom" box or slider to adjust the scaling to 100 percent. These options are different from program to program, but all programs with a "Print Preview" feature enable to you remove scaling by setting it to 100 percent,  full size or default.
  3. Click the "Print" button to start printing the document.
